One Legal Question a Day: A Small Way to Keep SQE1 Knowledge Fresh

One Legal Question a Day: A Small Way to Keep SQE1 Knowledge Fresh

I have recently added something new to Sharp Vision MCQ that I am particularly pleased with: Legal Question of the Day.

It is very simple. Every day, there is one SQE1-style legal MCQ. You answer the question, submit your choice, and then see the correct answer and explanation.

Tomorrow, there will be another one.

There Are Already Many Free SQE1 MCQs

On this website, I have put together a list of the main free SQE1 MCQs currently available from different providers and sources.

Do doubt candidates should make full use of them.

When you are studying a particular subject, doing a substantial number of MCQs is important. It helps you test whether you actually understand the law, exposes areas you have misunderstood or forgotten, and gives you practice applying legal rules to factual scenarios.

The Legal Question of the Day is not intended to replace that kind of structured question practice.

It serves a different purpose.

Just One Question a Day

Sometimes you are actively preparing for SQE1 and studying for several hours a day. At other times, you may simply want to keep what you have learned fresh.

That is where I think a daily MCQ can be useful.

One question does not feel like studying a whole chapter or sitting a mock examination. You can answer it while having coffee, during a break, or whenever you have a few spare minutes.

But you are still asking your brain to retrieve a legal principle, analyse a factual scenario and choose between several plausible answers.

Done regularly, that small exercise can help reinforce legal concepts in a much more leisurely way.

See the Questions You Have Already Answered

I also wanted the daily MCQ to give you some sense of continuity.

If you subscribe and log in, the system can keep a record of the daily MCQs you have answered and your accumulated score.

I like this feature because studying for a large examination can sometimes feel as though you are constantly looking at everything you still have to do.

It is easy to forget everything you have already done.

After answering the Legal Question of the Day regularly, you can look back and see your past questions and your accumulated efforts. One question may seem insignificant. Thirty questions mean you showed up on thirty different days. Over a few months, those small efforts become a substantial amount of legal revision.

Why I Built It

When I prepared for SQE1 myself, I found that returning to legal concepts repeatedly was more useful than expecting myself to remember everything after studying it once.

That is part of the thinking behind the Legal Question of the Day.

I did not want to create another task that makes candidates feel they have even more work to complete. I wanted something lighter: one question, a few minutes, every day if you can.

There is no need to worry if you get a question wrong. In fact, a wrong answer can be particularly useful if it reveals a legal distinction you had forgotten or a small fact you overlooked.

Read the explanation, understand what happened, and move on.

There will be another question tomorrow.

Small Efforts Accumulate

SQE1 covers a very large amount of law. There is no shortcut around the need to study it properly.

Use the free MCQ resources available. Work through question banks while studying each subject. Do full mock examinations when you are ready to test yourself under exam conditions.

But alongside all of that, perhaps try something smaller too.

Do one Legal Question of the Day. Then another tomorrow. And another the day after that.

Over time, you will not only have revised many different legal concepts. You will also have a record of the questions you answered along the way.

Sometimes progress is easier to appreciate when we can actually look back and see it.

One question a day. Keep going, and let your past efforts remind you how far you have come.
